Adobe has finally allowed websites to post reviews and details about the up and coming update to Adobes Creative Suite.
Among the rumors to have been confirmed is a report by CNET that Photoshop CS4 would utilize GPU acceleration in order to perform certain actions / functions.
One GPU feature that has been missed out of Photoshop CS4 is "Pixel Blender" that would have allowed effects to be applied to images quickly, it has been stated by "John Nack" that this feature should be released as a free update by Adobe Labs in the near future.
There has been much talk in the Mac rumor web about something code named "Brick" associated with the next MacBook update.
9to5mac has posted that it's source for this rumor is the same Asian source that talked about "Rainbow' Nanos being released at the iPod event earlier this month.
The exact meaning of "Brick" is open to much debate, many thinking it maybe associated with the rumor that the next MacBook's will sport a glass touchpad.
Apple has issued a recall for iPhone 3G USB Adapters sold in the following areas:
USA
Canada
Japan
Mexico
Several Latin American Countries
The fault with the power adapter relates to the actual prongs that plug into the power socket actually detaching from the charger itself and causing injury to people. Although this has only been reported by a small percentage of customers Apple has stated it takes customer safety seriously and as such will be exchanging the adapters for a redesigned adapter.
With the recent release of VMWare Fusion 2.0, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Parallels was no longer relevant with it's lack of Direct X 9.0x support with Shaders 2.0. and the lack of news of late from the Virtualization software company.
But Parallels is expected to match, if not raise the bar with version 4.0 of its Mac OS X virtualization software.
Parallels 4.0 uses a more optimized virtualization engine than 3.0 which in itself should offer performance increases but the biggest thing is that Parallels 4.0 finally adds Dual Core support which will help improve performance even more possibly allowing it to overtake Fusion in terms of general performance.
After the bulk of Kevin Rose's predictions about what would occur at the iPod event earlier this month, one of the main things left that is still to occur is Blu-Ray support in Mac OS X 10.5.6. Roses creditability is huge since his accurate predictions of what occurred at the iPod event came true.
It is doubtful that Apple will release 10.5.6 before the rumored launch date of the next gen MacBook and MacBook Pros in October, but whether these systems ship with Blu-Ray drives in order to take advantage of the technology on launch remains to be seen.
