The NY Times "Bits" Blog has posted about P.A. Semi's Wei-han Lien posting on his LinkedIn profile the following:
This post on Lien's LinkedIn profile has confirmed what many thought when Apple acquired P.A. Semi earlier this year, P.A. Semi had acquired some of the best minds in processor design before Apples purchase of the firm, and Apple has stated it purchased the firm for the abilities of the various design experts at P.A. Semi.
Lien's post indicates that Apple will design it's own CPUs for its iPods and iPhones in future which could mean slashing production costs as they could integrate other chipsets directly into the CPU as many other ARM based CPUs already do.
Well, iPhone-dev.org has done it once again they've jail-broken the latest iPhone firmware v2.1, they've managed to do this without having to patch iTunes 8 at all, so this means no issues with updating iTunes for the moment at least.
Over at MacRumors.com Forum user "pismodude2" has confirmed that the 2G Apple iPod Touch does in fact support vocal input from a microphone by using a 3rd party microphone / headphone headset and it works with existing microphone enabled iphone / touch applications.
Well we're back after, an abrupt hiatus, issues with work have meant that I've been able to undertake my activities here on this website, but now I'm back and want to commit my time to this website.
Apple today has rectified a work around present in it's iTunes rental system, which if a user set their date to a year in the future and then switched back after playback the file would play until 24hrs after the 2009 date you set; effectively giving you 1year and 24hours rental. Apple has since fixed this work around and now these files report a 5103 error.
